Google appears to be preparing its own answer to Apple‘s AirTag. A leak from Android Authority reveals an image of a so-called “Google Pixel Tag,” a small oval device designed to help users track lost belongings.
The publication also surfaced a Slovenian store listing for the accessory. That listing describes the gadget as an item tracker with a built-in speaker, relying on Google’s “Find My Device” network—now rebranded as Find Hub. The tracker, according to the translated text, is compact, lightweight, and durable. It can be attached discreetly to important items, and its location can be checked via a smartphone.
Timing seems significant. The Pixel Tag is emerging just ahead of Google’s hardware launch event scheduled for August 12th. The company has already teased its upcoming Pixel 11 lineup. Leaks have also pointed to a new foldable, smartwatch, and earbuds.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the Pixel Tag has appeared. Earlier this month, 9to5Google noted that early Pixel 11 listings mentioned a Google Pixel Tag. At the time, though, they pointed out that “no such tracker exists right now.”
Google itself has not confirmed anything. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
