For years, fans of “Five Nights at Freddy‘s” have only been able to imagine stepping into the world of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. That imagination is about to become a physical reality. An immersive pizzeria attraction based on the hit video game franchise is officially coming to American Dream, the massive entertainment and retail complex in Bergen County, New Jersey.
The attraction will be the world’s first permanent immersive restaurant experience tied to the franchise. ScottGames, the studio behind the original game, will help bring the concept to life. The announcement was made by American Dream executives, marking a significant addition to the already sprawling complex.
“For years, fans of ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ have imagined what it would feel like to step inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and we’re thrilled to have been selected to finally bring that world to life, only at American Dream,” said Don Ghemezian, chief executive officer at American Dream.
What will guests actually find inside? The experience is designed to be both playful and terrifying. Customers will be able to dine on fast-casual food, play arcade games, and watch animatronic shows. But the real draw, for many, will be the chance to go behind the curtain and take part in horror-inspired multiplayer game experiences.
Two animatronic stage shows are planned. Freddy and the Fazbear Band will perform on the Main Stage, while Foxy the Pirate will lurk in Pirate Cove. It’s a setup that mirrors the game’s iconic locations, but with real-world twists.
Atreyu Alcantar, creative manager of licensing and location-based entertainment at American Dream, and Creative Lead for the attraction, emphasized the importance of authenticity. “The only way this experience succeeds is if it’s created by a team that knows Five Nights at Freddy’s inside and out,” Alcantar said.
She added, “The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high quality.” But she stressed that the team is not simply building a set. “We’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza — we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. This experience will immerse longtime fans in the world they’ve imagined for years.”
The attraction is scheduled to open sometime next year. Further details, including menu items and ticketing information, have yet to be announced.
