Kate Beckinsale Wipes Instagram After Blasting Trolls Over ‘Disgusting’ Weight Comments

Kate Beckinsale has scrubbed her social media accounts. But not before firing back at critics she says have spent years tearing down her appearance.

The 53-year-old actress posted a series of messages Monday that she’d received from Instagram users, including one that read, “Loosen up the Ozempic! You were divine and now you look anorexic!” The post, since deleted, also included a screenshot of the remarks.

“As I’m sure you’re aware, anytime I post a photo of myself, I receive an enormous amount of comments telling me how disgusting I look and I’m anorexic or I’m on meth or that I’ve lost so much weight,” Beckinsale said in a video shared to her Stories, according to multiple outlets.

She didn’t stop there. Beckinsale went on to explain the reasons behind her changed appearance, starting with devastating personal loss. “First off, I’ve lost my entire family, except my precious daughter, in a short amount of time,” she said, referencing the deaths of her mother, actress Judy Loe, who died of cancer in July 2025, and her stepfather, director Roy Battersby, who died in January 2024.

Then she revealed a long-standing health battle. “The second thing is, I have a condition, which is an autoimmune condition called mast cell activation syndrome,” Beckinsale continued. “And there’s another one called mast cell disease, and there’s mastocytosis. This is something that I was diagnosed with 16 years ago.”

She credited an “amazing GP in London” for recognizing the condition and sending her to an expert in New Jersey. “My stomach is ground zero for my health struggles,” she noted.

When one fan begged her to “eat please,” the Pearl Harbor star shot back: “Having just made a several slides post about how eating could actually kill me this is a little beyond.”

Beckinsale urged social media users to remember they don’t “know what’s going on in people’s lives” and that it’s “not necessary for everyone to know your opinion on what somebody else’s body looks like.”

Her message was simple: “Treat people just how you’d like to be treated yourself, give people a little grace. If you don’t have anything nice to say, maybe don’t say anything. You don’t want to be the last straw for somebody, you don’t want to be the thing that makes them more sick, just keep going, it’s not hard.”

She had even promised a hater who “liked it better when I didn’t speak” that she would “delete everything except for the books I recommend.” True to her word, her account is now completely wiped. Her profile picture now reads: “‘Honey, what do you want to be when you grow up?’ ‘A threat to the new world order.'”

This isn’t the first time Beckinsale has clapped back at body shamers. In January 2025, she wrote, “Next time you feel like commenting on someone’s body, I suggest you keep it to your f–king self.” And last December, she broke down in tears while describing her slimdown as a “physical manifestation of grief” and “survivor guilt.”

The Underworld alum also railed against the “cruel piece of s–t” commentary, explaining, “It’s like my body has closed down. I think it’s shock and trauma.”

Beckinsale’s posts have disappeared, but her words remain with those who saw them. The actress, who has long navigated Hollywood’s harsh spotlight, chose to speak out before stepping away. Whether that changes how online trolls behave is another story. But her plea for grace echoes louder than the insults.
