Law Roach says Zendaya did not lose any sleep over his public reveal of her personal life. Months after the celebrity stylist made headlines by declaring that Zendaya and Tom Holland had already gotten married, Roach explained how the actress reacted behind the scenes. There was no angry phone call, awkward confrontation, or friendship fallout, he said. “She thought it was funny,” Roach revealed during the Sept. 22 episode of Outlaws with TS Madison, when asked whether Zendaya had given him any grief over his comments. He joked, “I’m still slightly spilling the tea about the wedding.” Then he played coy again: “You don’t know if that lady married or not.”
For Zendaya, Roach suggested, his unpredictable personality is hardly a surprise. The pair have worked together since Zendaya was a teenager. Roach, who has styled the Euphoria star since she was 14 and is a Project Runway judge, explained that one reason their partnership has lasted is that she has never attempted to control his personality, even as her career and fame have grown. “The great thing about her is that she has become one of the biggest movie stars in the world and she never ever tries to make me be something I’m not,” Roach said. He recalled that when he gets playful on a red carpet, Zendaya’s response is more likely to be, “Boy, you crazy,” than a demand that he change his behavior. “She never tries to change me,” he added. He also said, “No, because she can’t. But she don’t try, and that’s what’s so beautiful about our relationship.”
The mystery began in a major way on March 1 at the 2026 Actor Awards. Asked about Zendaya and Holland, the Spider-Man co-stars, Roach casually delivered what sounded like a huge celebrity wedding confirmation. “The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” he told Access Hollywood. When the reporter questioned whether he was serious, Roach doubled down: “It’s very true.” The comments immediately attracted attention because Zendaya and Holland had kept details surrounding their relationship and reported wedding extremely private. Roach did little to clear things up afterward. At the Oscars, when asked whether he wanted to clarify his earlier comments, his answer was simply, “No,” followed by, “I said what I said.”
Zendaya later addressed AI-generated images that purported to show her wedding to Holland during a March appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! She said “many people have been fooled” by the fake pictures and recalled having to tell people close to her, “Babe, they’re AI.” Holland eventually provided the strongest indication that a real wedding had taken place. In a June interview with Esquire U.K., the actor discussed AI-generated wedding images that had even confused his grandmother. When asked whether he had needed to explain the fake photos to other relatives, Holland responded, “No, because they were all there.” Asked for more information about the wedding, he shut down further questions with: “That’s all you’ll get on that.” Holland has since publicly referred to Zendaya as his “wife,” including during a July appearance on the Dish podcast.
Still, the precise timeline remains deliberately murky, thanks in no small part to Roach. At the 2026 Emmy Awards on Sept. 14, Roach abruptly changed course. “Well, I actually lied, she wasn’t married,” he said, claiming Zendaya and Holland “haven’t had an official ceremony yet.” He also suggested a ceremony would happen after Zendaya’s Dune press tour. Roach now says confusing reporters is intentional. “Stop asking me about somebody who I love’s personal business,” he explained on Outlaws with TS Madison. “Every time you ask me, I’m going to tell your ass something different.”
Roach said Zendaya could easily tell him what not to say or how to behave, but she does not. “Anybody that does business with her already knows, you get her, you get me,” he said of their close professional partnership. In another interview, he put it more bluntly. “The thing is, stop asking me about somebody who I love’s personal business,” he said. “You don’t have the right or the allowance or the agency to ask me questions about that lady’s personal business. So, every time you ask me, I’m gonna tell your ass something different.” He added, “You don’t have the agency to ask me no questions other than what she’s wearing and how she’s doing.”
Meanwhile, Zendaya has emphasized that she will keep her love life with Holland as close to the chest as possible. “For me, there is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship,” she admitted during an April appearance on the Modern Love podcast. “I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other. So, I really do understand that.” She said she doesn’t want to “dismiss” fans’ interest in her and Holland’s romance, but her relationship is the one part of her life she won’t allow a spotlight to shine on. “I’m a very private person and I do my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well,” she continued. “We do our best in general to not hide ourselves from the world but just to preserve things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves.”
