Benin and Algeria demonstrated remarkable resilience in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers as they secured crucial victories in their respective matches on Monday.

Benin hosted Nigeria in Abidjan, while Algeria faced Uganda in Namboole, with both teams staging comebacks to claim all three points.

Guinea-Bissau also battled against Egypt in a hard-fought 1-1 draw, showcasing determination and grit on the field.

In the Benin vs. Nigeria clash, Raphael Onyedika initially put Nigeria ahead in the 27th minute, but Benin’s Jodel Dossou and Steve Mounie responded with goals to secure a 2-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Uganda took an early lead against Algeria through Travis Mutyaba, but Houssem Aouar and Said Benrahma’s goals turned the tide in favor of Algeria, resulting in a 2-1 win.

The match between Guinea-Bissau and Egypt saw Mama Baldé open the scoring for Guinea-Bissau in the 42nd minute, only for Mohammed Salah to equalize for Egypt in the 70th minute, ending the match in a 1-1 draw.
