YouTube TV Expands Multiview Feature for Non-Sports Content

Mountain View, California — Last month, Google announced an exciting update for YouTube TV subscribers, allowing them to build their multiview feeds using content from select non-sports channels.
The multiview feature lets users watch up to four streams at once, enhancing the viewing experience. Initially, options were restricted, but Google has introduced a “Build a Multiview” function, enabling subscribers to choose streams for their multiview setup.
This feature is still being tested, with live sports feeds being the primary content available for selection. However, Google plans to expand the available channels soon. On Friday, the company revealed they are experimenting with select channels across various genres, starting with popular options like Bravo, ESPN, and USA.
“We are thrilled to expand our offerings and provide more flexibility to our subscribers,” a Google representative said. “Our goal is to include local channels over the coming months as we gauge user interest.” YouTube TV members can try this updated feature by accessing it through their TV remote or mobile device.
Personalized recommendations will appear in the Home tab under the “Watch in multiview” section. However, Google noted that the rollout will happen gradually, so if you do not see the feature immediately, it should be accessible soon.
In addition to enhancing the multiview options, YouTube TV aims to introduce an “Always-On” multiview, featuring local channels such as ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. This new capability promises to add even more value for YouTube TV subscribers.
