Skai Jackson Granted Restraining Order Against Deondre Burgin After Mother’s Day Assault

LOS ANGELES, May 20, 2025 — Skai Jackson, the former Disney Channel star, has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Deondre Burgin after a violent incident on Mother’s Day. The order was issued by the L.A. County Superior Court, and a court hearing is set for June 9.
Jackson, 23, alleges that Burgin attacked her while she was holding their three-month-old son, Kasai. Court documents describe how Burgin grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face.
The actress claims this incident is part of a long history of domestic violence, asserting that Burgin abused her regularly throughout 2024. She detailed accounts of choking, scratching, and slamming her head against walls during this time.
Among the more disturbing allegations, Jackson recounted instances where Burgin demanded she drink bleach to terminate her pregnancy and threatened her life at knifepoint. In one attack, Jackson locked herself in a bathroom to escape Burgin, who then allegedly broke through the door, assaulted her, and choked her until she could not breathe. She claims to have video evidence of this incident.
Jackson stated that she fears for her safety and for the safety of their child. She requested that the court issue a permanent restraining order keeping Burgin at least 100 yards away from her and her son, as well as her pet dog. She also called for Burgin to undergo a domestic violence treatment program and to establish a child support agreement while covering her legal fees.
Burgin has a history of legal troubles and was serving a 90-day sentence for a parole violation at the time of Kasai’s birth in January. Jackson’s latest filing indicates her ongoing concern for her safety as Burgin allegedly possesses multiple firearms, heightening her fear.
