Hoover, Alabama – The #9 Vanderbilt Commodores are gearing up for the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. They will face either Georgia or Oklahoma on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Having finished the regular season strong with a five-game win streak, Vanderbilt enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed.

In their last game, Vanderbilt swept Kentucky at Hawkins Field, capping the season on a high note. The Commodores found their rhythm late in the season, going 12-4 in their last 16 SEC games after a mixed start.

Vanderbilt’s pitching staff has been impressive, leading the nation in strikeouts per nine innings at 11.9. Riley Nelson has shone offensively, wrapping up the regular season with a .355 batting average, 69 hits, and 45 runs.

Shortstop Jonathan Vastine also made significant contributions, being a standout hitter during conference play and showcasing his strong defense. The Commodores are eyeing a championship run as they prepare for the intense competition ahead.

As they enter the SEC Tournament, the hope for Vanderbilt is to continue their winning momentum and advance through the brackets, aiming for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
