Joe Jonas Faces Dating Fears Post-Divorce, Shares New Song Inspiration

LOS ANGELES, CA — Joe Jonas opened up about the challenges of dating again following his divorce from actress Sophie Turner during a TalkShopLive stream on Wednesday. The 35-year-old singer described the experience as ‘scary and intimidating’ while reflecting on his new song, ‘Only Love.’

Jonas shared that he was dating someone at the time and felt anxious about re-entering the dating scene. ‘I was kind of having this idea of dating again. It was really scary and intimidating,’ he said. He acknowledged the varied nature of love: ‘Love takes different shapes and forms and I was rediscovering what that was.’

The unnamed person he was dating reassured him by saying, ‘Well, it’s only love,’ which inspired Jonas to write the song. ‘I was like, ‘Well, when you put it that way…’ So we wrote a song about it,’ he explained. He recognized that for him and his partner, the situation was significant, yet he encouraged taking ‘a leap of faith’ in love.

‘Only Love’ will be featured on Jonas’s upcoming album, ‘Music for People Who Believe in Love,’ set to release on Friday. The album reflects his personal journey and emotions following his high-profile divorce finalized in September 2024 after a four-year marriage. The couple shares two daughters: Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.

The divorce involved a complicated custody battle after Turner accused Jonas of withholding their daughters’ passports. However, they eventually resolved their disputes and reached a co-parenting agreement.

Since his split from Turner, Jonas has started dating again. He was briefly linked to model Stormi Bree and has been seen with actress Laila Abdallah and another woman in Paris.
