Jordan Love Faces Pressure to Elevate Game in 2025 Season

Green Bay, WI — The 2025 NFL season is set to be a pivotal one for quarterback Jordan Love. With a top-10 offensive line, a strong running game, and a talented receiving corps, Love has the potential to rise among elite quarterbacks.
However, Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently ranked him 12th overall, placing him in Tier 3b: Solid Starters who still need more support. PFF’s John Kosko noted, “When ranking quarterbacks in this tier, it’s almost a dart throw trying to predict the level of play you’ll get.”
Love’s performance fluctuated during the past seasons. His late-season surge in 2023 showcased his capabilities, but momentum waned in 2024, with his big-time throw rate plummeting from 5.6% to 3.5%. If he can regain his form from 2023, Love possesses the talent and mindset to lead the Packers to an NFC championship.
Joining Love in Tier 3b were other notable quarterbacks like Baker Mayfield and Tua Tagovailoa, whereas Jared Goff and Brock Purdy ranked higher. Kosko remarked that while Love faces challenges, he may be more talented than some who were placed above him.
Consistency has been Love’s biggest hurdle. His first season as the starting quarterback in 2023 saw him struggling for nine games before turning things around in the last stretch, leading to a four-year, $220 million contract extension. Entering 2024, however, injuries and a rash of drops from key receivers hindered his progress.
Despite setbacks, there is optimism around Love’s potential. The Packers bolstered their offensive line this offseason, and Love will have new targets in first-round pick Matthew Golden and third-rounder Savion Williams, while running back Josh Jacobs returns to the fold. With the right conditions, Love could become a high-end starter or even reach elite status.
