PARIS, France — American tennis player Ben Shelton is making headlines at the 2025 French Open. The 22-year-old is not only advancing through the tournament but also winning fans’ hearts off the court. During a media appearance, Shelton participated in a fun trivia challenge about his girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, a star soccer player.

Shelton secured his place in the second round after a thrilling five-set match against Lorenzo Sonego. The match, which Shelton won 4-6, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, showcased his resilience and powerful serve, as he fired off 15 aces.

“This was a tough one for sure,” Shelton said after the match. “I know he is a big-match player, but the crowd was great.” He is now set to face French player Hugo Gaston, whom he defeated in last year’s tournament.

Off the court, Shelton’s relationship with Rodman is drawing attention. During the trivia segment, he accurately answered questions about Rodman, including her middle name, favorite author, and her achievements in soccer. “I’m in awe of you,” Rodman praised Shelton on social media after his match.

Rodman plays for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL and is a regular on the U.S. national team. The couple confirmed their relationship in March with an Instagram post. During a previous match, Rodman was spotted cheering for Shelton, further highlighting their support for each other.

As the tournament continues, all eyes will be on Shelton to see how far he can go, both in his matches and in his charming off-court appearances.
