Los Angeles, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded for right-handed pitcher Will Klein from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handed pitcher Joe Jacques, according to various reports. The deal was confirmed by Dodgers officials on June 2, 2025.

Klein, 25, was designated for assignment by the Mariners on May 31. He has limited Major League experience, having pitched 7.1 innings in 2024 for both the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics. He has a career 11.05 ERA in the big leagues.

In his time with Triple-A Tacoma this season, Klein posted a 7.17 ERA in 22 appearances, striking out 32 batters but issuing 19 walks over 21.1 innings. Despite his struggles, the Dodgers are hopeful that Klein can be a valuable asset.

Joe Jacques, 30, was signed to a minor league deal by the Dodgers in November 2024 but did not make a Major League appearance during his time with the team. In 18 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he recorded a 7.25 ERA.

This trade marks the third time Klein has been dealt in less than a year, as he was previously acquired by the Mariners from the Athletics in January 2025.

The Dodgers have seen a National League-high 28 pitchers this season, underscoring their need for pitching depth as the season progresses.
