North Carolina to Face Arizona in Super Regional Baseball Matchup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina Tar Heels will host the Arizona Wildcats in the NCAA Super Regional starting Friday, June 6, at Boshamer Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for noon ET.

This marks North Carolina’s 12th appearance in the Super Regional round, where they hold a record of 17 wins and 8 losses. Carolina has previously advanced to the College World Series in 8 of those instances.

The Wildcats, who earned the No. 2 seed in the Eugene Regional, come into the matchup after sweeping their last three games, which included two wins against Cal Poly and one against Utah Valley. Historically, the teams have battled five times, with Arizona leading the series 3-2. This will be their first matchup since 1990.

North Carolina, seeded fifth in the 2025 tournament, advanced to this round by defeating Oklahoma 14-4 in the Chapel Hill Regional championship. Key players for the Tar Heels included Gavin Gallahue, who was named the regional’s Most Outstanding Player after hitting .722 with 10 RBIs, including three home runs.

The schedule for the Super Regional is as follows: Game 1 on Friday at 12 PM ET, Game 2 on Saturday, June 7, at 12 PM ET, and Game 3 (if necessary) on Sunday, June 8, at a time to be determined. All games will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Tickets for the games are available to season ticket holders, as well as limited quantities at the box office on game days. Parking options include the Rams Head Deck and Craige Deck for $10. Free parking will be available in designated lots starting from Friday evening.
