Bill Murray Concert Red Rocks

MORRISON, Colo. — Big Head Todd and the Monsters drew enthusiastic crowds to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on June 7 and 8, celebrating their 40th anniversary with two electric shows. The band, formed in 1986 by Todd Park Mohr, Brian Nevin, and Rob Squires at Columbine High School in Littleton, is recognized for its blend of blues and rock.

On the first night, the show opened with performances by Cracker and Cheap Trick, who energized the audience with nostalgia. The following night featured Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers alongside the Warren Haynes Band. Murray, who has a deep love for classic rock, joined his band for a lively set filled with humor and spontaneity.

“Playing at Red Rocks is always special for us,” Mohr said. “Every time we step on that stage, it feels like home.” The band first performed at the venue during the Blues on the Rocks Festival in 1991 and has returned frequently over the decades.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters rose to fame with their 1993 album, *Sister Sweetly,* which reached platinum status and featured hits including “Bittersweet” and “Broken Hearted Savior.” This milestone anniversary marks not just their longevity but their continued relevance in a rapidly evolving music scene.

The audience experienced a powerful mix of classic tracks and newer material from their latest album, *Her Way Out,* released in 2024. Many fans expressed how special it was to witness the band’s evolution through the years.

“It means a lot to see a band grow and still have the same energy,” said a fan who attended both nights. “Their shows are always a blast.”

After a brief rain shower on the second night, a rainbow appeared over the amphitheater, adding a magical touch to the evening’s festivities.

“This place is iconic, and to celebrate our anniversary here means everything to us,” Mohr added. “We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from our fans throughout the years.”

As fans sang along to their favorite tunes, it was clear that Big Head Todd and the Monsters have not only made an impact on the Colorado music scene but have also built a lasting legacy that continues to resonate with audiences.
