Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, a gruff and often underestimated head of a group consisting of MI5 agents who have fallen from grace.

In a recent interview, Oldman expressed his enjoyment of the character, stating, “We often laugh while doing it. It’s been an extraordinary show to work on, especially because of the people involved.” He highlighted the collaborative atmosphere on set, where everyone contributes to creating a positive environment.

Slow Horses is adapted from Mick Herron’s novels, showcasing the lives of MI5 agents stuck in Slough House, a place for intelligence operatives who have made significant mistakes. Oldman characterized Lamb as “rude, crass, and often drunk,” but also intelligent, adding, “As the season progresses, more about his character is revealed.”
