South Central Pennsylvania Weather Forecast

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect South Central Pennsylvania starting late Friday evening and throughout the weekend.

The high temperature on Friday is expected to reach the low to mid-80s across the Susquehanna Valley. Humidity will make conditions feel muggy, with temperatures currently at 71 degrees in Harrisburg and around 68 to 72 degrees in neighboring areas like Lebanon, York, and Gettysburg.

A cold front moving into the area may lead to rain starting later in the day, particularly after 6 p.m. According to meteorologists, evening thunderstorms are likely to develop, continuing into the overnight hours. Low temperatures will drop to the mid-60s.

On Saturday, weather conditions remain unsettled, with scattered showers continuing throughout the day. A wetter day is anticipated compared to Sunday, although it will not be a complete washout. Residents can expect breaks in rain but should remain cautious of possible downpours.

Temperatures on weekend days will be cooler than average, ranging in the low to mid-70s. Both Saturday and Father’s Day will see occasional rain, but there will be opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities.

The following week is expected to be mild, with rain chances on Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, the region’s temperatures are forecasted to rise back into the low to mid-80s, bringing higher humidity levels as well.

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on weather updates as conditions may change. The forecast calls for some scattered thunderstorms, with an alert for possible damaging winds and heavy rain.
