Weather Forecast Nebraska October 2023

OMAHA, Neb. — A burst of warm weather is expected to give way to rain and cooler temperatures as a cold front approaches this weekend.

The evening will be warm, with high school football games starting in the mid-80s, cooling to the upper 70s during the 4th quarter. Winds are expected to pick up early Saturday morning, maintaining warm temperatures overnight, with the lows in the upper 60s.

Saturday will be particularly windy, with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph. This wind, coming from the south, will help push daytime highs into the low 90s, just shy of the record high of 92 set in 2005.

As Sunday approaches, a cold front moving in from the northwest will lead to a rise in temperatures to the mid-80s. While there may be isolated showers or storms earlier in the day, rain is more likely during the evening and night. The rainfall will be scattered across the area, with higher chances in southern and eastern locales.

On Monday, scattered showers and storms will persist, mainly affecting eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Afternoon temperatures will drop to the upper 60s, resulting in cooler than normal weather.

Leftover rain is expected to clear early Tuesday morning, allowing for afternoon sunshine with temperatures returning to the low 70s.

By Wednesday morning, temperatures will be cool in the mid-40s before rising to low 70s under sunny skies.

Thursday will again bring breezy conditions with low 70s and an increased chance of rain.
