Los Angeles, CA – Enrique “Kike” Hernández, the utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has much to celebrate both on and off the baseball field. Drafted by the Houston Astros in 2009, Hernández has won two World Series titles, including a championship in 2020.

Hernández, 31, also knows the value of teamwork beyond baseball. He has been married to actress, model, and beauty pageant winner Mariana Vicente since 2018. Vicente, 35, hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and won the Miss Universe Puerto Rico title in 2010, placing in the top ten at the Miss Universe pageant.

The couple first met online after Hernández saw Vicente in the movie Hot Tub Time Machine 2. He reached out to her on social media, congratulating her on her role. “He found me on social media and sent me a message complimenting my acting,” Vicente recalled. Two months later, they met in person.

The MLB star knew early on that they were destined to marry. “She was as beautiful in person as in her photos as a model,” Hernández said. After six months of dating, he proposed during a vacation in Big Sur, California, in July 2017. Vicente shared that she accidentally recorded the moment on Snapchat. “I turned around, and he was on one knee,” she said.

The couple tied the knot in December 2018 in a ceremony in Puerto Rico. Hernández shared heartfelt sentiments on Instagram, noting the emotional impact of the day. “I would have appreciated a heads up on how much I was going to cry!” he wrote.

The family’s happiness grew in June 2020 when they announced they were expecting their first child. Hernández joyfully shared the news on social media, declaring, “Baby Hernández Vicente coming soon!! #GirlDad.” Their daughter, Penelope Isabel, was born on January 15, 2021. Hernández expressed his emotions on Instagram, stating that nothing compared to the moment he met his daughter.

In 2021, Hernández signed with the Boston Red Sox before returning to the Dodgers in 2023. The couple celebrated five years of marriage that December, with Vicente humorously noting on Instagram, “Five years married to my best friend… and it only took him this long to grow a beard!”

In January 2024, they celebrated Penelope’s third birthday. While Hernández aimed for another World Series, Vicente continued her work in the fashion industry, launching a new collaboration with Ecliptica. She highlighted their long-standing relationship, saying, “They have been present for all my major life moments. Their designs, dedication, and work ethic are top-notch.”

On August 12, the couple announced they are expecting baby number two, playfully naming the new arrival “Kikito.” Their announcement received warm wishes from fans and friends, including a congratulatory message from the Dodgers: “Congratulations, Kike and Mariana!”
