Ticking Clock for $1 Million Lotto Winner in New York
Nassau County, New York — A $1 million Mega Millions prize remains unclaimed as the deadline looms. The New York Lottery issued a final alert for a winning ticket bought at Cold Cut Express, located at 507 Dubois Ave. in Valley Stream, last December.
The ticket, purchased on December 13, 2024, matched five white ball numbers: 36, 43, 52, 58, and 65. However, it did not match the Mega Ball number 16. Under New York Lottery rules, winners have until December 13, 2025, to claim their prize. If the winner does not step forward by then, the prize will be forfeited.
Lottery officials urge anyone who believes they hold the ticket to immediately sign the back and store it safely. Winners can reach out to the New York Lottery for guidance on claiming their prize by calling 518-388-3370.
Unclaimed lottery prizes, along with accrued interest, can be used by the Lottery for special promotions or prizes for up to sixteen weeks each year. However, if the total amount exceeds $60 million in a fiscal year, the surplus is sent to the state treasury to support the lottery fund.
As the deadline closes in, the excitement builds for what could be a life-changing win for one lucky ticket holder.
