Celtics Secure Victory Over Magic in Nail-Biting Finish
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Boston Celtics edged out the Orlando Magic 111-107 on Sunday night, thanks to late-game heroics from Jordan Walsh and strong performances from their key players.
Jaylen Brown was a standout, scoring 27 points, while Anfernee Simons contributed 25 points, igniting the Celtics after a slow start. The victory wraps up a two-game trip for Boston.
With only 45 seconds remaining, Derrick White hit a crucial 3-pointer, giving Boston a 110-105 lead. Walsh then sealed the game with another 3-pointer with just 13 seconds to go.
The Magic fought hard, with Paolo Banchero leading the way by scoring 28 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter. Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner also chipped in with 20 points each, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Celtics.
The match saw momentum swings, with Boston initially trailing. Simons sparked a comeback, scoring 23 points in his first nine minutes of play. The Celtics had a strong start, leading by 11 points during the second quarter, but the Magic rallied to make it a tight contest by halftime.
Despite shooting just 23.3% from beyond the arc, the Magic managed to stay competitive. Boston shot 39.4% from 3-point range, and their ability to capitalize late in the game made all the difference.
Next, the Celtics will face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, while the Magic will host the Denver Nuggets on Monday.
