DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — Keanu Reeves will return to the big screen in a new feature titled ‘Shiver,’ set to begin filming in the Dominican Republic in February 2026. The movie will be directed by Tim Miller, known for his work on ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Terminator: Dark Fate.’
‘Shiver’ tells the story of a struggling smuggler caught in a time loop. After being double-crossed during a job in the Caribbean Sea, the character finds himself surrounded by dead bodies and hostile mercenaries, forced to relive the last moments of his life repeatedly until he can break the cycle.
Reeves was last seen in the comedy film ‘Good Fortune,’ where he portrayed Gabriel, alongside co-stars Sandra Oh, Aziz Ansari, and Keke Palmer. He also reprised his iconic role as John Wick in ‘Ballerina‘ and voiced Shadow the Hedgehog in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3.’
Looking ahead, audiences can expect to see Reeves in two upcoming black comedies, ‘Outcome‘ and ‘The Entertainment System Is Down.’ The latter is directed by Ruben Östlund and features Kirsten Dunst and Daniel Brühl.
Tim Miller’s diverse background includes his work as an animator, with projects like Netflix’s ‘Love, Death & Robots‘ and Prime Video’s ‘Secret Level,’ showcasing various animation styles.
The Dominican Republic has served as a filming location for several major movies, including ‘Road House,’ ‘The Killer,’ ‘The Lost City,’ and ‘Arthur the King.’ With both Reeves and Miller known for their contributions to the action and science fiction genres, fans are eager to see what they create together in ‘Shiver.’
