Lions Reveal Injury Report Before Sunday Night Showdown with Eagles
Detroit, MI — The Detroit Lions announced their Week 11 injury report on Thursday ahead of their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
With a current record of 6-3, the Lions face off against the 7-2 Eagles, and several key players are dealing with injuries. Tight end Sam LaPorta was noted for missing his second consecutive practice due to an undisclosed back injury. Coach Dan Campbell has not provided further details, leading to uncertainty about LaPorta’s status for the upcoming game.
Another player, cornerback Amik Robertson, was added to the report mid-week, raising concerns about his availability. The nature of his injury is unclear, as well as whether he missed practice due to a pre-planned rest.
Linebacker Arnold is currently in concussion protocol and has not practiced this week. He mentioned on his podcast, “Right now, they got ya boy in concussion protocol, but I feel good. I look at stuff like this and just say, ‘It’s in God’s hands.’” Meanwhile, Joseph continues to miss practices, which could result in him missing his fourth straight game unless he makes a sudden recovery.
Running back Vaki, who missed practice with a new injury, returned on Thursday, aiming for game-day readiness. Saylors has also been practicing since missing Week 10, giving the Lions a potentially fully fit running back group for the first time this season.
With LaPorta’s situation uncertain, Wright’s ability to step up as the starting tight end is becoming increasingly critical. He was limited earlier in the week but returned to practice on Thursday.
Offensive tackle Sewell had a brief absence earlier in the week but resumed practice on Thursday, indicating he is on track to start Sunday. On the other hand, Decker has been consistent in practice, suggesting he may also rest on Friday.
Defensive tackle Hutchinson stated his intention to play on Sunday after dealing with an elbow injury last week. Rodriguez has also been a full participant in practices and is expected to be removed from the physically unable to perform list ahead of Sunday.
The Lions will provide more updates following Friday’s practices, which will help clarify the availability of their injured players.
