New Hiking Route Promotes Cluny Heritage
Cluny, France — The Via Cluny association is promoting a new hiking route that showcases the rich heritage of Cluny’s sites. The trail spans 550 kilometers, winding its way from Switzerland to Cluny through several French regions, including Doubs, Jura, and Saône-et-Loire.
This route connects 26 significant sites related to the Cluniac movement, which played a crucial role in medieval monastic life. According to a spokesperson for Via Cluny, the route is designed to enhance awareness and appreciation of these historical landmarks.
“Our goal is to make these paths accessible to everyone,” said the spokesperson. “We believe that connecting nature with history can create a unique experience for hikers.”
The hiking paths are clearly marked, encouraging both experienced trekkers and casual walkers to explore the beautiful landscapes while learning about the Cluniac legacy.
