AJ Lee Set to Replace Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series WarGames
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — AJ Lee has been announced as a potential replacement for Charlotte Flair in the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames women’s match. Flair withdrew last week due to differences with Rhea Ripley.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, host Bryan Alvarez shared that Lee is expected to join Ripley, IYO SKY, and Alexa Bliss in the match against Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Asuka, and Kairi Sane. The match must adhere to the traditional five-on-five format, suggesting additional participants will be added to both teams.
It was reported earlier that Lee was seen backstage at Monday Night Raw, hinting that her participation will likely be confirmed during the show. Wrestling fans have eagerly awaited her return since she last competed at Wrestlepalooza in September, where she teamed with her husband, CM Punk, in a mixed tag team match.
AJ Lee’s return has been a hot topic among fans, specifically regarding a potential feud with Becky Lynch, which could unfold in the months following Survivor Series. This builds on previous plans for Lee and Lynch to captain opposing teams in the WarGames match.
The Survivor Series event is slated for November 29 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. As the anticipation builds, the WWE continues to tease fans with unexpected developments leading into the match.
