International Men's Day 2025 Celebrations

NEW DELHI, India – November 19, 2025 – Today marks International Men’s Day, a global observance founded to shed light on the challenges men face while celebrating their contributions to families and society. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Men and Boys,” aimed at promoting positive role models and nurturing well-being.

International Men's Day, first celebrated in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago, was initiated by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh. He chose November 19 to honor his father’s birthday and also commemorate a significant football event in his country. The occasion has since expanded, now recognized in over 80 countries worldwide.

Men’s Day encourages discussions on mental health, social roles, and issues such as abuse, homelessness, and suicide. It serves as a platform to appreciate the positive influence of men in various spheres. According to its proponents, this day is about recognizing daily efforts, resilience, and the strength men show in their roles as fathers, brothers, partners, and friends.

As we celebrate today, many are sharing heartfelt wishes and quotes to honor the men in their lives. From words of encouragement to messages of admiration, these sentiments reflect the varied roles men play in our communities. “May this International Men’s Day remind you of your worth, strength, and endless potential,” is one of many messages shared across social media channels.

In addition, campaigns promoting mental health awareness—such as “Zero Male Suicide”—have gained traction this year. These initiatives underscore the importance of emotional safety and well-being, urging men to seek help when needed.

International Men’s Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the everyday contributions of men and to inspire discussions that promote equality and respect. Today, let’s celebrate the values, resilience, and spirit of men and boys everywhere.
