Yuma School District One Grade Report

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) – Schools within Yuma School District One have received letter grades from the Arizona State Board of Education (AZSBE) for the 2024-25 academic year. The AZSBE releases an annual report to evaluate schools across the state based on student proficiency, academic growth, and other key factors, assigning them letter grades from A to F as part of an accountability program.

During a recent meeting, the district’s governing board celebrated the achievement of eight schools that earned an “A” or “B” letter grade. These schools were presented with a recognition banner to display on their campuses as a symbol of their accomplishment.

“School letter grades are one reflection of the dedication and passion our teachers bring to every classroom each day,” remarked District One Superintendent Denis Ponder. “The true indicator of success is the incredible learning that happens daily in every District One school.”

The grades are part of efforts to maintain an accountability system that helps schools improve and enhances the quality of education in the district. The report from AZSBE provides families and communities critical data about school performance.

As part of the recognition, families were encouraged to ask questions and learn more about the accountability program and its impact on education in Yuma. Schools are hopeful that these improvements will continue to elevate student learning and engagement.
