Jackrabbits Aim to End Losing Streak Against North Dakota
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — South Dakota State University (SDSU) will face the University of North Dakota (UND) at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Alerus Center, as both teams seek their eighth win of the season.
The Jackrabbits enter the game with a 7-4 overall record and look to break a four-game losing streak. Their last loss came against Illinois State, where they fell 35-21 on November 15. SDSU has seen their ranking drop to 22nd in both the American Football Coaches Association and Stats Perform media polls.
North Dakota also holds a 7-4 record but has been more successful recently, winning a road game against Murray State 35-17 last week. The Fighting Hawks rank 13th in the media poll and 16th in the coaches’ poll.
This game marks the 91st meeting between SDSU and UND, with the Fighting Hawks leading the series 47-38-5. The Jackrabbits have dominated in their recent Division I encounters, winning six out of the last seven matchups.
Last year, SDSU defeated UND 38-7 at the Alerus Center, marking their fourth consecutive win over the Fighting Hawks.
As the Jackrabbits take the field, they are looking to avoid their first losing season in league play since joining the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) in 2008. If they fall to the Fighting Hawks, it would mark their longest losing streak since 2011.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, with television coverage on Midco Sports and ESPN+.
