Raleek Brown Arizona State Football Touchdown Celebration

Tempe, ArizonaArizona State running back Raleek Brown celebrated his touchdown against Colorado Saturday by channeling Deion Sanders’ iconic “Prime Time Shuffle.” Brown executed the move after catching a 33-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Sims, helping ASU take a 10-7 lead in the first half.

Brown’s touchdown display is a nod to the flashiness Sand Dancer was known for during his playing days. The touchdown followed impressive runs from Brown, including pickups of 11 and 9 yards prior to the score. Sims, who momentarily faked a rush to confuse the defense, then connected with Brown in the end zone.

Despite throwing an interception shortly after, Sims rebounded with a 59-yard pass to Brown on the next possession. This play was a setup for a trick play that attempted to find Jordyn Tyson in the end zone via a screen pass, which fell just out of reach.

Earlier in the game, ASU showcased their creativity with a 19-yard gain on a fake punt, as Kanyon Floyd threw a pass to defensive lineman Blazen Lono-Wong. This clever strategy mirrored a successful fake in last year’s Peach Bowl.

ASU needed a win to keep their hopes alive for a return to the Big 12 title game. As the game progressed, it became clear that other teams’ losses could also bolster ASU’s chances to advance.

The excitement in the stadium reflected the intensity of the game, which drew in fans eager to see if ASU could pull off the victory and maintain their title aspirations.
