Amber Alert Issued for Abducted Baby in New Roads, Louisiana

A’laya Jackson Abduction New Roads

NEW ROADS, La. — Louisiana State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a 3-month-old girl believed to have been abducted from her home in New Roads. A’laya Jackson was last seen Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:18 p.m. on Bayou Run Drive.

Authorities received the request for the AMBER Alert at 10:25 p.m. from the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office. According to the alert, a woman named Carnasia Mims reportedly entered the home and took Jackson.

Mims is believed to be traveling in a 2012 blue Toyota Yaris with Louisiana license plate 533HZE. A’laya Jackson is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes. Her height and weight are currently unknown.

Carnasia Mims is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing around 137 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police are urging anyone with information about A’laya Jackson or Carnasia Mims to contact the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-694-3737 or call local law enforcement by dialing 911.

The search for A’laya Jackson continues as authorities seek the public’s help in locating her.
