Matthew Stafford Achieves .500 Win Percentage with Rams
Los Angeles, CA — Matthew Stafford achieved a significant milestone in his NFL career last week as he reached a .500 win/loss percentage for the first time. Following the Los Angeles Rams‘ latest victory, Stafford is now 8-2 this season, putting him above .500 as a starter.
Stafford struggled for years with the Detroit Lions, recording a 74-90-1 record without winning a playoff game during his 12 seasons there. His fortunes changed when he was traded to the Rams in 2021, where he won his first playoff game and secured a Super Bowl title in his first season.
Despite his success with the Rams, Stafford’s overall career record still shows more losses than wins. He lost his first NFL start in 2009 and has never held a winning record for more than a week since then. “Winning in the NFL is hard,” Stafford said. “I’m glad to see things turning around.”
The Rams currently lead the NFC West with their strong performance, and fans are eager to see if the team can maintain its winning streak. “Can they keep it up?” asked a Rams supporter after the game.
The Rams’ defense played a crucial role in their latest win, intercepting Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold four times. The defense kept the Seahawks to just one touchdown despite yielding 414 total yards. “The defense was the difference today,” said Rams coach Sean McVay.
As the Rams prepare for their upcoming match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are hopeful Stafford can keep his momentum going. Stafford has thrown for 2,557 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, making him one of the league’s top quarterbacks.
