Amc Theaters Popcorn Pass Announcement

LOS ANGELES, California — AMC Theaters is launching a new concessions discount pass that offers a 50 percent discount on large popcorn for Stubs loyalty program members. The pass, which costs $29.99 a year before taxes, includes a free refill on popcorn each day.

The AMC Popcorn Pass will go on sale on Cyber Monday, December 1, coinciding with the release of several high-profile movies for the holiday season, including Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2. The discount is effective immediately and will remain valid through December 31, 2026, according to AMC.

AMC announced the Popcorn Pass on Tuesday, highlighting that despite a growing menu of snacks, popcorn continues to be the most popular item sold in theaters. AMC CEO Adam Aron even attempted to sell popcorn at retail stores to capitalize on its strong association with moviegoing.

“The AMC Popcorn Pass makes it easier than ever for guests to enjoy the treat they love each time they visit,” said Carrie Trotter, senior vice president of marketing for AMC. “From families making memories to movie fans, this offering delivers incredible value.”

The pass is available for purchase throughout the year but is only valid for in-theater purchases and cannot be used for mobile orders. Users must present a photo ID when using the pass.

Additionally, the Popcorn Pass replaces the AMC CLASSICS Annual Bucket promotion, which previously offered discounts on a bucket of popcorn and allowed for same-day refills at select locations.

Tens of millions have signed up for the AMC Stubs program, which provides various membership options, including a free tier.
