NBC Sports Network Launches on Comcast Xfinity TV Packages
LOS ANGELES, CA — NBCUniversal has officially launched its revamped NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), now available on select Comcast Xfinity TV cable packages. This new channel offers a full day of live sports content, including games from the NBA and WNBA, Premier League soccer, college basketball, and golf.
Starting in 2026, NBCSN plans to expand its offerings to include Major League Baseball games, featuring some postseason matchups. This launch comes shortly after NBCSN’s debut on YouTube TV earlier this month, showcasing NBCUniversal’s commitment to enhancing its sports broadcasting.
NBCSN is included in Xfinity’s Popular TV package and the Sports & News TV bundle. The network has incorporated much of the sports programming that was previously exclusive to NBCU’s Peacock streaming service. However, select events, such as a special NFL Week 17 game on December 27 and various Olympic broadcasts, will remain on Peacock.
The extensive programming lineup for NBCSN features Monday Night NBA games, Premier League soccer matches, WNBA play-offs, and college football from Big Ten and Notre Dame. It will also present golf majors, cycling events, and horse races like the Kentucky Derby and Oaks.
In addition to live games, NBCSN will feature several studio programs, including “PFT Live,” “The Dan Patrick Show,” “The Dan Le Batard Show,” and “Fantasy Football Happy Hour” hosted by Matthew Berry.
This channel first launched as the Outdoor Life Network in 1995 and underwent multiple name changes, becoming Versus and, ultimately, NBC Sports Network in 2012. After closing in late 2021, NBCUniversal’s relaunch marks a significant shift toward its sports broadcasting strategy.
