WASHINGTON – On Nov. 26, 2025, President Donald Trump took to social media to respond to a New York Times article suggesting he is showing signs of fatigue as he approaches his 80th birthday. The article, titled ‘Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office,’ raised questions about his energy levels.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump dismissed the report, claiming he has never worked harder in his life. He labeled the New York Times as ‘failing’ and accused its journalists of writing negative pieces about him. ‘The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,’ he wrote.

Trump, who returned to the White House the day before Halloween after a trip to Japan and South Korea, continues to suggest that he is as energetic as ever. He has been active on social media and in public events, with supporters praising his stamina. ‘This man has been nonstop for DAYS!’ one ally exclaimed online.

However, in the same week, he appeared to doze off during an Oval Office press conference, creating a contrast to his energetic public persona. The president’s response included comments about his ‘PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM’ and a cognitive test he claimed to have ‘aced’ recently.

Trump also targeted the article’s author, Katie Rogers, calling her a ‘third rate reporter’ in a personal attack. He did not hold back his frustration, stating that the coverage he receives is deliberately skewed against him. ‘This cheap ‘RAG’ is truly an ‘ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE,’’ Trump added.

The New York Times article noted that although Trump appears more frequently before the media than his predecessor Joe Biden, his public schedule has shortened this year. Reports from his Oval Office events suggested that he occasionally shows signs of fatigue, with moments where he appeared to doze.

In addition to refuting claims of fatigue, Trump is engaged in legal battles against the New York Times, having filed a lawsuit seeking $15 billion in damages over articles he alleges defame him regarding his finances and business affairs.
