Guy Fieri Flavortown Food Fight Injury

Los Angeles, CA – Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is recovering in a wheelchair after suffering a severe injury while filming his new show, “Flavortown Food Fight.” Fieri, 57, fell down a set of steps, which resulted in tearing his quad muscle in half. The accident occurred during the show’s filming on November 24, and Fieri described the incident, saying, “One foot went forward, and the other foot got caught on the threshold.”

After the fall, Fieri was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to prevent his muscles from receding. He stated that the injury was particularly uncommon, with the doctor mentioning he hadn’t seen a tear of that nature in his two decades of practice. “You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle, and it exploded,” Fieri explained.

Despite the injury, the filming crew managed to adapt. Fieri noted that with 125 people on set, they had to think creatively to continue the project. “Everybody [was] in town and ready to go, and I’m in surgery,” he said.

Fieri has since been getting around using crutches or his wheelchair and mentioned that he must stay off his leg for at least eight weeks. Once the recovery period is over, he will receive a cast and begin rehabilitation. “I want to get after it as fast as possible,” he told reporters.

For this year’s Thanksgiving, Fieri’s sons, Hunter, 29, and Ryder, 19, along with his nephew Jules, will take over the cooking responsibilities as Fieri recovers. He humorously remarked, “It’s gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do. And we cook for about 40 people up here. So it’s going to be an adventure.” Fieri expressed his willingness to help from a distance while managing the kitchen activities.

Reflecting on the accident, Fieri candidly said, “It sucked,” calling it a “damper” on his usual activities. However, he remains optimistic and is looking forward to recovering and returning to his active lifestyle.
