St. Louis Warehouse Fire

ST. LOUIS — At least two large warehouses caught fire Friday morning near 2nd and Gratiot, close to the river. Video from a 5 On Your Side photographer and several live camera feeds from the Missouri Department of Transportation confirmed the flames.

The fire is visible from I-44 as it fills the downtown skyline with smoke. Traffic control is in effect at multiple locations, managed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

5 On Your Side reporter Reagan Di Trolio arrived on the scene around 5 a.m., where she witnessed a massive plume of smoke billowing over the roadway. A considerable section of one warehouse has collapsed due to the intensity of the blaze.

Preliminary reports indicate that at least one person was found inside the warehouse and successfully evacuated. Emergency responders continue to assess the situation.
