LOS ANGELES, CA — Quentin Tarantino unveiled a new animated short titled The Lost Chapter: Yuki‘s Revenge during a special Fortnite event at Vista Theater on November 19. The collaboration with Epic Games marks a unique bridge between film and video games.

During a live Q&A at the event, Tarantino shared his initial expectations for the meeting with Fortnite. “I showed up thinking they would want to license characters and get my ideas for something fun,” he said. However, he learned they were interested in a specific type of content. “They very innocently asked me, ‘Do you have something that’s, like, eight to 12 minutes long that could be good for our purposes?’”

Fortunately, Tarantino discovered elements from a first draft of Kill Bill that fit their request. Yuki’s Revenge follows Yuki, Gogo Yubari’s twin sister, as she seeks vengeance against The Bride, played by Uma Thurman. Tarantino stated he had originally shelved the idea due to its ambitious nature. “We couldn’t do it, it was just too crazy,” he explained.

Thurman, who reprised her role for the short, was excited about the unique partnership. “This is such a new audience for the movie,” she remarked, noting the film’s merging with the gaming world. “I dare anyone to have more extraordinary experiences than I’ve had with this man,” she added, referring to her work with Tarantino.

Tarantino expressed enthusiasm about the crossover potential between Fortnite fans and Kill Bill enthusiasts. “It’s a really good way to launch the new season,” he said. The animated short will debut in-game on November 30 at 2 PM ET.

Additionally, fans can view The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge in theaters as a complement to the re-release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which combines both volumes of the film. This theatrical experience will start on December 5 across select theaters in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
