Aaron Rodgers Steelers Injury Game

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a devastating 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 1, 2025, marking one of their worst performances of the season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, already nursing a fractured left wrist, took a brutal blind-side hit from Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa, resulting in a bloodied nose and an interception that shifted momentum in favor of Buffalo.

Despite leading 7-6 at halftime, the Steelers quickly unraveled in the second half. Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph struggled, throwing an interception that allowed the Bills to score again, increasing their lead to two possessions.

Fans at Acrisure Stadium grew restless, booing during the game and chanting “Fire Tomlin” as frustration mounted. Head Coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the crowd’s discontent, stating, “Man, I share their frustration tonight. We didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality of it.”

After the game, Rodgers sat at a press conference, showing visible signs of the struggle with a swollen nose. He reflected on the team’s tough season and emphasized the need for improvement. “We need to figure something out,” said linebacker T.J. Watt. “Because clearly, what’s been going on hasn’t been working effectively.”

The Steelers, once commended for their strong start at 4-1, have now lost five of their last seven games and find themselves at a precarious 6-6 in a tightly contested AFC North division.

Offensively, the Steelers managed only 166 total yards and failed to convert on significant third down opportunities. Rodgers completed just 10 of 21 passes, while the team struggled against a pro-Bills defense that dominated possession time with their run-heavy approach.

Watt called the performance an “ass-kicking in all areas,” highlighting the Bills’ ability to run similar plays effectively throughout the game. The defense allowed the Bills to rush for 249 yards, the most by an opponent since 1975.

With the Ravens also sitting at 6-6 and a head-to-head matchup looming, the Steelers will need to find a way to regain control of their season. “We’ve got to have a Monday-to-Saturday that we can really be proud of,” Rodgers said, indicating his commitment to improving. “And go out and play our best game.”
