LOS ANGELES, CA — Actor Wyatt Russell, known for his role in the upcoming film “Thunderbolts,” shared his thoughts on fatherhood during a recent press event. The 38-year-old actor is a father to two boys, Buddy Prine, 3, and Boone Joseph, 14 months, with his wife, actress Meredith Hagner.

Russell expressed how becoming a parent has deepened his understanding of his own parents. “When you become a parent, you realize what your parents feel about you. All they want you to be is happy,” he told PEOPLE. He reflected on the profound changes parenthood brings, saying, “It’s everything you didn’t know it was going to be.”

The proud father welcomed Boone in February 2024 and described fatherhood as “incredible”. His wife, Hagner, announced Boone’s arrival with a heartwarming post on social media, celebrating the newborn as “8 pounds 3 oz of heaven.”

Russell, who joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as John Walker in the series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” mentioned that his recent filming experience helped him navigate the challenges of being a father to two. “I had a week-old baby, and I thought I was going to, you know, basically ruin him. But meeting my fellow cast mates was really special for me,” he said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live“. He noted that the camaraderie on set made it easier to transition into his new role as a father.

As he balances his Hollywood career and family life, Russell emphasized how much fatherhood has taught him. He believes that all parents want the best for their children, a realization that makes his role even more meaningful. Russell’s journey as a father has significantly impacted his perspective on life and work.
