Aitana Bonmatí Absent from Barcelona Squad for Upcoming Levante Match

Aitana Bonmatí, a prominent player for FC Barcelona, will be absent from the squad for the upcoming match against Levante UD this Sunday, part of the 7th round of the Liga F. Her exclusion from the team was notable, especially given her recent accolade as the Ballon d'Or winner. No medical report has been released, and coach Pere Romeu did not address her status, suggesting that the midfielder is resting following a demanding series of matches over the past days.

Bonmatí’s absence also comes after she was not called up by the national team coach Montse Tomé for Spain‘s friendly matches against Canada on October 25 and Italy on October 29. “We believe she needs rest, and we have discussed this with her and the club,” Tomé stated last Thursday, giving an early indication of Romeu’s squad announcement for Sunday’s match in Valencia. Additionally, Salma Paralluelo, another key player, is also sidelined due to injury. Sydney Schneider will play with the reserve team following her nomination as a Golden Girl finalist, along with Vicky López.

Romeu announced his strategy for the game, which involves more rotations within the team. “The intention is to rotate because we’ve played many matches in a short span, five in fifteen days, and we need to rest some players who need it,” he explained.
