Alaina Opens Up About Feeling Left Out During ACM Awards

Nashville, TN — Country artist Lauren Alaina expressed her feelings of being left out during the ACM Awards on Instagram after the event on May 8.
The musician, 30, shared an emotional message explaining her sadness about not being there to celebrate with her peers. ‘Ok, first of all, I just want to say, I’m at home watching the ACMs and I’m so proud of everyone tonight,’ she said. ‘I get so excited for everyone because I have the same dream.’
Alaina, who is 37 weeks pregnant, continued, ‘But I’m home this year and I just want to be honest about something, I’m feeling left out. I’m feeling sad. I’m feeling so many feelings because I have this little girl in here, and I want her to dream big.’
The singer described the past few years as a period of ‘transition’ in her music career. ‘I just feel kind of left behind,’ she explained, adding that creating content and maintaining an online presence has become just as important as writing and releasing music.
Despite her feelings, Alaina emphasized that it is not a competition. ‘But if you feel like you want to be somewhere and you’re not there, I see you and I feel you,’ she said.
Alaina also clarified that her emotions are unrelated to her pregnancy but rather stem from her desire to be part of the celebration. ‘I didn’t go to the ACMs last year either, and I just desperately want to be there,’ she remarked.
Although she felt sad, Alaina expressed excitement for her friends who were winning and felt a connection to their accomplishments. ‘I know what that means to them because that’s what I want as well.’
In related news, Alaina released her new single, ‘All My Exes,’ on May 9, which she describes as a fresh take on the typical breakup song.
