Alan Cumming, the Scottish actor and host of the hit reality competition series ‘The Traitors US,’ is set to return for its third season, premiering on January 9, 2025, on Peacock. Known for his eccentric hosting style and flamboyant outfits, Cumming has become a fan favorite since the show’s debut in 2023.
‘The Traitors US’ brings together a cast of contestants who compete in challenges and deception to win a $250,000 prize. Cumming, who also serves as a producer, has earned widespread acclaim for his larger-than-life persona and theatrical delivery. His unique accent and over-the-top costumes have drawn comparisons to iconic characters, including Moira Rose from ‘Schitt's Creek.’
Cumming, born in Aberfeldy, Scotland, began his career in the early 1980s with roles in British television. He gained international fame in 1995 as Boris Ivanovich Grishenko in the James Bond film ‘GoldenEye.’ His diverse career spans film, theater, and television, with notable roles in ‘The Good Wife,’ ‘Cabaret,’ and the ‘Spy Kids‘ trilogy.
In addition to his acting career, Cumming is a prominent LGBTQ activist and author. He has written a novel, ‘Tommy’s Tale,’ and two memoirs. In 2023, he made headlines for relinquishing his OBE, citing concerns over the British Empire’s colonial history.
Season 3 of ‘The Traitors US’ will premiere with three episodes on January 9, followed by weekly releases leading up to the finale on March 6. Cumming’s hosting has earned him an Emmy nomination, adding to his previous accolades, including a Tony Award and an Olivier Award.
