All American Now Streaming: A Popular Teen Drama Joins Netflix

LOS ANGELES, CA — All American, a teen soap about high school football, is now streaming all seven seasons on Netflix in the United States. The series premiered in 2018 on The CW and has gained a dedicated following. It tells the story of Spencer James, a talented football player from South Central Los Angeles, who relocates to Beverly Hills to pursue his college football dreams.

Created by April Blair, All American features actors Daniel Ezra, Taye Diggs, and Samantha Logan. The show follows Spencer, the star wide receiver for Compton’s South Crenshaw Chargers, after he is recruited by Billy Baker, the head coach at Beverly Hills High School. With the promise of better opportunities, Spencer makes the difficult decision to move in with the affluent Baker family, confronting a cultural shock as he navigates two very different worlds.

In Season 6, the story reaches a turning point for many characters. Spencer makes guest appearances in Season 7, which concentrates on his friends Layla and Coop as they step into new chapters in their lives. Layla is passionately producing music for her record label, ForMonica Records, while Coop finds her place in law school. Jordan, Baker’s son, becomes the new quarterback coach at South Crenshaw High School.

An interesting fact about All American is its inspiration from real-life events. The series is co-produced by Spencer Paysinger, a former NFL player. Paysinger, who grew up in South Los Angeles and was also recruited to play football at Beverly Hills High School, shares that many storylines reflect reality. “A lot of the stories do ring true,” he said.
