América Vs Pachuca Liga Mx Apertura 2024 Estadio Cuauhtémoc

The highly anticipated match between Club América and Pachuca is set to take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, as part of the Jornada 16 of the Liga MX Apertura 2024. This encounter is crucial for Club América, who are striving to secure a direct qualification to the Cuartos de Final of the Liguilla. Despite already having a spot in the Play-In, América aims to achieve more and needs to win their remaining two matches, including this one against Pachuca and the upcoming match against Toluca, to stay in contention for a direct qualification. However, their fate also depends on the results of other teams such as Atlético de San Luis, Chivas, and Xolos.

The match will be held at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, due to the temporary closure of América’s home stadium, Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, by the Alcaldía Benito Juárez of Mexico City. This change in venue is not new for América, as there are considerations for the team to play future home matches in different locations within the country to be closer to their fans.

Club América, under the direction of André Jardine, comes into this match with a strong offensive performance, being the third-best team in terms of goals scored with 25, and the fourth-best defensively with 16 goals conceded. Henry Martín is their top scorer with eight goals. In their last match, América convincingly defeated Mazatlán 5-0, which has boosted their chances of reaching the direct qualification spots.

Pachuca, on the other hand, is already eliminated from the Liguilla contention with only three wins in the tournament. Despite this, they come into the match with some momentum after a 6-2 victory over Necaxa, led by a hat-trick from Salomón Rondón. Their only away win this season was against Puebla at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc, the same venue for this match.

The match will be broadcast live in Mexico on Canal 5 and TUDN, and in the United States on Univision, TUDN, and the VIX streaming service. Given the current form of both teams, América is expected to push hard for a victory, but Pachuca will look to cause an upset despite their elimination from the tournament.
