Americans For Prosperity Action Advertisements 2024

Americans for Prosperity Action, a super political action committee (super PAC) linked to the Koch network, is engaging in a significant advertising campaign targeting various Senate battlegrounds ahead of the upcoming elections. The group has allocated a substantial $8.75 million towards supporting Republican candidates, primarily concentrating on critical issues such as the economy, inflation, and immigration.

The campaign includes financial backing for several prominent Republicans across different states. Specifically, the super PAC is dedicating $1.5 million to bolster former GOP Representative Mike Rogers in Michigan, $1.25 million for Tim Sheehy in Montana, and $2 million each for Bernie Moreno in Ohio, Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania, and Eric Hovde in Wisconsin.

“The next 28 days are going to be 100% committed to talking to as many people as we can via the doors and the phones to convince them that our candidates are the right choice,” stated Tim Golding, the senior adviser for Americans for Prosperity Action.

In the broader context of the election year, the group has already expended approximately $60 million on electoral advertising, as documented in filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Americans for Prosperity Action, having previously endorsed Nikki Haley for the presidency in 2023, has shifted its focus towards supporting conservative down-ballot candidates through a variety of outreach efforts, including digital ads, door-knocking campaigns, phone banking, and distributing election mailers.

Notably, the super PAC is abstaining from activities promoting former President Donald Trump this election season. Instead, the group is emphasizing issues related to living costs and highlighting candidates like Bernie Moreno, who is recognized for his business acumen. One advertisement poses the question, “Do we want a politician or do we want someone who knows how the economy works? Bernie Moreno gets it.”

In Michigan, the group has launched advertisements on the same day as the state’s first Senate debate, which attempt to associate Democratic Representative Elissa Slotkin with the Biden administration, while underscoring Mike Rogers’ credentials from his experiences in the Army and law enforcement. As part of their robust outreach, Americans for Prosperity Action reported knocking on over 165,000 doors and making upwards of 225,000 phone calls across the state in support of Rogers.
