Anna Faris Wildfire Recovery Son Jack

LOS ANGELES, CA — Actress Anna Faris, 48, recently opened up about how her son Jack encourages her to explore new experiences, even if they are frightening. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Faris expressed pride in her willingness to go on roller coasters and water slides for the sake of her son.

“I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone because of my love for my son so many times,” she said. “I’m really proud of that, and I love it that he can count on me.” Faris shares 12-year-old Jack with her ex-husband, actor Chris Pratt, and she has two stepchildren with her husband Michael Barrett.

Faris also reflected on the challenges she faced following the loss of her home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January. “It’s still surreal,” she remarked, discussing her efforts to rebuild after losing her $5 million home in the Pacific Palisades wildfire, which destroyed over 10,000 structures and claimed at least 10 lives.

“We are going to rebuild. It will be a process,” Faris said. “In a year from now, it won’t be top of mind, but obviously, it will still be something that we’re dealing with.”

Faris recounted the harrowing experience of evacuating her home, sharing a poignant moment with a neighbor as they both faced the incoming blaze. “The fire’s coming, the sky is turning red… Then three hours later, our houses were gone,” she explained.

Despite the overwhelming loss, Faris expressed gratitude for the support of her son. “He’s handled the situation with the fires well, too,” she said, acknowledging Jack’s strength during this difficult time.

She emphasized a newfound appreciation for the little things in life, stating, “I just feel so fortunate… so many of us lost our homes, and they weren’t nearly as fortunate as we were.”

As the family looks forward to the future, Faris remains optimistic about the rebuilding process and the excitement it brings to her children.
