Apple Siri Eavesdropping Settlement

East Brunswick, NJ — Consumers who own Siri-enabled devices like iPhones and MacBooks may file claims in a $95 million settlement with Apple. The lawsuit stems from allegations that Siri eavesdropped on private conversations and shared data with third parties.

The case began in 2021 when Fumiko Lopez, a California resident, and other users claimed their confidential discussions were recorded after unintentional Siri activations. They argued that this data was used to target ads through Apple’s platforms.

Apple denies the allegations, stating it has done nothing improper. However, eligible individuals can file claims through the settlement website until July 2, 2025. To qualify, consumers must have owned a Siri-enabled device between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.

The settlement limits payouts to $20 per device, so a user with multiple devices could receive up to $100. To determine eligibility, customers can contact the settlement administrator at 1-888-981-4106 or by mail.

Individuals who received notifications about the settlement should use their Claim ID and Confirmation Code to file claims. Those who did not receive notifications but believe they qualify can still submit a claim online.

A final approval hearing for the settlement is set for August 1, 2025. If approved, payments will be processed after addressing any potential appeals, according to the settlement guidelines.
