Apple Iphone Se Fourth Generation Mockup Phone

WASHINGTON — Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, known for his reliable leaks and predictions regarding Apple, reports that Apple will announce the fourth-generation iPhone SE as early as the third week of February 2025. The iPhone SE, known as Apple's budget-friendly entry-level model, offers a lower price point compared to the regular and Pro iPhone models.

According to Gurman, citing sources, Apple plans to unveil the new iPhone SE by late February 2025. However, Gurman doesn't anticipate a formal launch event specifically dedicated to this release. Tech website 9to5Mac, citing information from Gurman, suggests that only the announcement of the iPhone SE will take place.

The third-generation iPhone SE, released in March 2022, resembled older models with a curved design similar to the iPhone 8, featuring a home button. However, reports indicate that the fourth-generation iPhone SE will adopt a newer, full-screen design akin to the iPhone X, eliminating the home button. Speculations suggest its design will echo the iPhone 14 series.

Internally, the biggest expected change is Apple's move away from Qualcomm's modems. Apple is anticipated to utilize its own modem chip in this iteration. 9to5Mac points out that this marks the first instance of Apple incorporating its manufactured modem into its products. Apple has been working on developing its own modem since 2019.

Initially, Apple faced delays in completing its 5G modem chip, leading it to continue utilizing Qualcomm's modems for existing iPhones, as confirmed by Apple's September 2023 announcement. Nonetheless, Apple’s development on its 5G modem technology persisted, setting the stage for the 2025 iPhone SE to feature Apple's proprietary modem.
