Apple Set to Unveil Powerbeats Pro 2 on February 11

Cupertino, California – Apple is poised to announce the highly anticipated Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds on February 11. The new model is expected to retail at $250 and includes significant upgrades over its predecessor, originally released in 2019.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 are anticipated to feature the H2 chip, which is already employed in the AirPods Pro 2. This upgrade is expected to enhance active noise cancellation and improve overall audio quality. Mark Gurman, a noted technology journalist, shared insights regarding these developments.

In addition to audio upgrades, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are rumored to include heart rate monitoring capabilities, a feature long speculated for the AirPods Pro. This health tracking functionality aims to cater to fitness enthusiasts, allowing users to connect the earbuds to gym equipment, such as treadmills, to measure their heart rate. This data would be accessible within the Health app on iPhones.

The new earbuds are designed with a sporty aesthetic, featuring ear hooks for stability and comfort during exercise. Leaked images indicate that the Powerbeats Pro 2 will come in multiple color options, including Jet Black, Hyper Purple, Quick Sand, and a vibrant Electric Orange.

Additionally, the earbuds’ charging case is expected to support USB-C, aligning with Apple’s gradual transition toward this standard. Battery life improvements are also anticipated, potentially offering up to 45 hours of usage.

Official details regarding the Powerbeats Pro 2 release were not yet confirmed, but the February announcement appears to be small-scale, as Apple has not scheduled any launch events, in-person or virtual.

Previous iterations of Beats headphones have developed a distinct identity compared to Apple’s AirPods lineup, reflecting a sporty and robust design while offering unique functionalities tailored for active users.
