Arson Investigation Underway Following Fatal Phoenix House Fire

PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating a deadly fire that occurred early Friday morning in central Phoenix, with detectives from the arson unit taking charge of the case. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 a.m. near 44th Street and Camelback Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Fire crews responded promptly, rescuing a man from the burning structure. Despite immediate medical attention and being rushed to the hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries. As of now, police have not disclosed the man’s identity.
A woman also emerged from the fire scene alive and was treated for injuries. Authorities have not provided an update on her condition following the incident.
“Detectives with the Phoenix arson unit responded to the scene to take over the investigation,” Capt. Todd Keller of the Phoenix Fire Department said. Further details regarding the cause of the fire are still under investigation.
Fire safety officials remind residents to stay vigilant, especially in high-risk areas, and to have working smoke detectors in their homes.
