Austin to Host 2025 MLS All-Star Game at Q2 Stadium
Major League Soccer has officially announced that the 2025 MLS All-Star Game will be hosted at Austin’s Q2 Stadium next summer.
The specific date and opponent for the 29th edition of the MLS All-Star Game will be revealed at a later time.
Fans across over 100 countries and regions worldwide will be able to watch the event through the Apple TV app.
Aside from the main match, a week-long celebration of soccer and culture will be organized by MLS and the city of Austin at various venues around the city.
This celebration will include events such as the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T, MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate, MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration, and the MLS All-Star Concert, all offering community programming and entertainment for fans.
Commissioner Don Garber of Major League Soccer expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to bring the 2025 MLS All-Star Game to Austin, a market known for its rich cultural and entertainment scene and world-class events. Austin has quickly become one of the top soccer markets in our country, selling out 60 consecutive Austin FC matches and hosting many marquee soccer events the past three years.”
Austin FC, the first major professional sports team in Texas‘ capital, entered MLS in 2021, making next summer’s event the first MLS All-Star Game in Texas since 2010.
The Q2 Stadium, with a seating capacity of 20,738, is a state-of-the-art soccer-specific venue with a natural grass playing surface and a signature canopy structure offering shade for all seats. Known for its cutting-edge lighting capabilities, it was the first stadium globally to install tunable RGB LED field lighting.
Austin FC founder, majority owner, and CEO Anthony Precourt shared his thoughts on the announcement, saying, “It’s an honor for Austin FC to host our city’s first-ever professional All-Star Game. Austin is a world-class soccer city, our fans are amazing, and the culture that has been established here in a short amount of time is a testament to our community’s passion for the game. This is a special day, and we’re excited to welcome the league’s best to Q2 Stadium in 2025.”
Since its inception in MLS, Austin FC has recorded a sell-out streak for every regular season and playoff game played at Q2 Stadium, currently holding the longest active sell-out streak in Major League Soccer.
In addition to hosting Austin FC matches, Q2 Stadium has seen action during the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup and qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The stadium is also slated to host matches for this summer’s Conmebol Copa América tournament.
